This site and this event as a whole is dedicated to our daughter, Raley Lynn Kirby, who was born on April 26th, 2008. Raley was born with a mitochondrial disorder that took her life on June 13th, 2008.
Although we are no longer able to help Raley, we want to be able to share her life and her memory with others. We are able to do this by raising awareness for mitochondrial disease and by helping to raise money towards finding a cure in hopes that others like Raley will be able to have a fighting chance at living a normal life with mito.
We want to take a moment to thank all of our friends and family who have been there for us, but more importantly for Raley through all of this. We couldn’t have made it without the love and support of all of you. We appreciate all of the help that you gave us to make this run possible. We can only hope that our little angel is so very proud of all of us.
If we’ve learned one thing from this, it’s that life is much too short and the time that you have here on Earth should not be taken for granted. Take the time to enjoy your family and the people around you. Let them know how important they are in your life. You never know when they might be taken from you.
